Description
The Global Caché IP2SL-P is a compact TCP/IP to RS232 interface designed to bring serial-controlled equipment onto a wired Ethernet network. It provides a practical bridge between existing RS232 devices and modern IP-based control systems.
Rather than replacing equipment that still performs its intended function, the IP2SL-P allows compatible serial devices to remain part of a wider networked system. Typical applications include displays, audio equipment, computers, motorised window shades and other RS232-controlled devices.
The IP2SL-P features a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet connection, bidirectional RS232 communication via a male DB9 connector and 802.3af Power over Ethernet, allowing power and network connectivity to be supplied through a single Ethernet connection.
